As a student, the artist Harald Rausch was considered particularly talented in the sciences and in the arts.   His teachers and his society convinced him that he had to make a choice.   Harald  became a teacher of mathematics and physics at a Gymnasium in Neumarkt, Germany.  As luck would have it, he retired at the end of the 2004 school year.  Now is the time for art!  I am particularly proud of Harald because he is also my oldest brother.  "Dubrovnik" (above) and "Das Rote Tor" ("The Red Gate") (below) are two of his recent pastels.  Some of Harald's photography is online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/14761147@N04/
